Target Stores in Canada

Target corporation is a U.S. retail company that is the second-largest discount retailer in the United States, after Walmart.
On January 2011, Target bought the Canadian discount retail chain Zellers from Hudson's Bay company for $1.8 billion. Target will convert Zellers locations to Target stores in 2013.

On May 2011, Target announced that it will open its Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario. The Canadian leadership team will be moving to Canada this summer.

Target also said Zellers locations will continue to operate as Zellers stores before closing for six to nine months and reopening as Target stores after some major remodeling.
